Turns out that changing a job can equal task completion! I’ve removed all of the goals I had in regards to my old acquisitions job, and I’m still considering whether or not to replace them with new librarian goals.
Other than that, I participated in National Novel Writing Month again this year. I also failed to win NaNoWriMo again this year. I actually completed writing the story I had in mind though, so I’m not especially heartbroken. I’m working on editing it now for practice, not out of any disillusions of it seeing the light of day. I also have a few friends that wanted to see it when I finished, and I can’t bear to let them see the original meandering mess that it was. Somehow my story of pirate werewolves fighting vampire cowboys turned into a romance, the pirates turned into raiders and the cowboys into bounty hunters, my love interests became the villains, and Jewish vampire hunters showed up.
This is what I get for not plotting it out ahead of time.
…who am I kidding, I like being surprised by my characters and love how the plot turned out. Even though it wasn’t supposed to look like THAT.

I just finished editing my short story “Turn the card” (was #75) and have submitted it to WeirdTales.

I figure it’s about time I started collecting rejection slips. 

I’m surprised that I’m not more freaked out.

Really, not even a little.

I’ve reviewed my goals, and have some successes, attempts, and setbacks.

I’ve missed all of the lunar eclipses (10) that I could see in Juneau, so I’ll have to think of a way around that one.  Thankfully that’s the only one that I’ve completely dropped the ball on, but I’ve got a few more whoopsies.

Let’s see…I’ve finished knitting Leena’s gloves (38), but they were far to large for her tiny hands.  I had to give in to the urge to hack off my hair (47)(only 4 inches removed!), and I keep adding books to my giant pile o’ books (88).  Other than those I’ve made headway in cleaning my bureau (28), have given most of my unused summer clothes away to a friend moving to Guam (29), started knitting the sleeves on my Mom’s cardigan (91), and made sorta final edits on Turn the Page (75).

I’ve finished Libkitty’s copyright crown! (37).  I’ll have to ask before I put up a pic, but it’s purty.  Ohh, and I graduated from library school, so I’m the proud owner of a Masters degree in Library and Information Science from Drexel University.  Now if only I could remember to pick up my diploma from the frame shop…

Yeah…I’m part of the Procrastination nation.  Done with school, no presentations, lunch ate, here we are!

In case it isn’t obvious, I’m putting the number of the goal I’m talking about in parenthesis.  Easy to find!

I finished one thing on my list! I finished making the list (1), so that counts as one down, one hundred to go.  Hoorah!  I think I’ve completed more than that, but I’ll put those in other posts.

I also have started my task of learning Japanese (70-72).   I bought some Pimsler language CD’s, a couple of Kanji/Hirigana/Katakana books, and some music (Puffy AmiYumi and Utada Hikaru).  So far I’ve only listened to the music and one lesson, but getting familiar with the cadence is useful.

I also decieded to rearrange my organization a little.  I’ll be removing my goals from the sidebar as I complete them, in order to make my list a little less intimidating for myself.  So, for memories sake here’s the entire list:

Ahh, my first blog.  Honestly I’ve been trying to stay away from these things, because I’ve been afraid that I’ll just procrastinate and never post. 

But now I have to post!

I just joined up with a 101 things in 1001 days group, so I need to track my amazing successes, horrifying shortcomings, and obvious procrastination. 

In one of the most public ways possible. 

I’m already re-thinking this idea.
